RESORT STYLE BY ROGER THOMAS

March 25, 2024
DCA designer Roger Thomas tells the story of his 40-year career in hospitality, with stunning photography.

Our client Roger Thomas, Executive Vice President Emeritus of Design and Development at Wynn Hotels and Resorts, is celebrating the release of his first book, Resort Style: Spaces of Celebration. Published by Rizzoli, Resort Style is a sumptuous presentation of the acclaimed interior designer’s extraordinary hotel casino designs, considered to be among the most spectacular interiors in the hospitality design world.

Exploring the grand lobbies, gaming rooms, restaurants and bars, and hotel guestrooms and suites from his forty-year career at Wynn Resorts that were brought to life through his “evocatecture” design philosophy, Thomas organizes the text into eight sections — Drama, Romance, Surprise, Comfort, Luxury, Entertainment, Joy, and Mystery. Chapters within the book discuss these emotive design themes and the alluring configurations of Thomas’ resort spaces.

Complete with dazzling visuals from notable photographers including Barbara Kraft, Francis George, Roger Davies, and Russell MacMasters, Resort Style is a must-have for fantasy and luxury design enthusiasts alike. The book layout and design were artfully crafted by Sam Shahid and Matthew Kraus of Shahid / Kraus & Company and Thomas’ writing was completed with journalist and author Jonah Lehrer. Enlisting the help of leading journalists and long-time friends, the forward is by Interior Design Editor-in-Chief Cindy Allen and the included essay, “No Place Like Home”, is by Los Angeles Times’ art critic Christopher Knight.

Resort Style: Spaces of Celebration may be purchased at www.rizzolibookstore.com and through Rizzoli’s numerous distribution partners worldwide. Roger Thomas’ debut book signing will occur at the HD Expo + Convention in Las Vegas, NV on May 1, 2024, at 1pm PT in the Social Hub.
