Adam Hunter Creates The Perfect Chair

September 6, 2018
DCA is pleased to announce another exciting guest design collaboration – between LA-based celebrity designer Adam Hunter and Fortress Seating. The result is first-class motorized furniture that any discerning homeowner would be proud to have in their media room – or their living room, den, family room, or master bedroom.

Something beautiful, inspiring, and wonderful is happening in San Diego this week.  At the custom electronics trade show CEDIA Expo, a leading U.S. manufacturer of custom luxury seating for over 80 years is partnering with one of the hottest interior designers in Los Angeles to deliver a new standard for motorized furniture. Fortress Seating will be proudly showcasing the new Opus theater chair, designed by Adam Hunter. This is the design collaboration the world has been waiting for to finally make home movie night chic.

For Opus, the bulky arms and chunky look of traditional theatre chairs have been replaced with sinuous lines and less mass without sacrificing a single ounce of comfort or luxury.  The slim frame and high-grade leather makes Opus a stand-out piece in media room furnishings. But the chair is equally at home in the living room or family room and wherever else both supreme comfort and great design are required by today’s demanding consumer.

Designer Adam Hunter notes, “My career started in Broadway theatre, so the Opus is an incredibly personal project.  I wanted to bring the beauty of great aesthetics and great design to a theatre setting.  And for me and my design process, the final delight is in the details.”

On this last point, Adam really delivers.  The Opus theatre chair is incredibly tech-savvy, with state-of-the-art motorization, convenient in-arm controls and USB connectors, and a selection of fabrics and leathers that elevate the chair’s beautiful form to a whole new level.

Please check out a few images of Opus below, with the equally gorgeous Adam Hunter x Fortress Seating branding layered in!
